  • Czinger 21C, Touring Arese RH95, Rimac Nevera: This Week’s Top Photos

America’s Czinger this week revealed the production version of its 21C hybrid hypercar, and it’s promised with numbers that trump the new crop of electric hypercars like the Rimac Nevera. Take for example the quarter-mile time which is a blistering 8.1 seconds.

Rimac also revealed the Nevera to the world this week, the production version of the company’s follow-up to the Concept_One electric supercar. Previously referred to under its C_Two code name, the Nevera comes with 1,914 hp and the ability to rocket from 0-60 mph in 1.85 seconds.

Another hypercar in the headlines this week comes from Bugatti. We’re talking about Bugatti’s La Voiture Noire based on the Chiron platform. The stunning hypercar is a true one-off, with its owner having paid 11 million euros (approximately $13.2 million) for the privilege of taking it home.

Italy’s Touring Superleggera celebrates its 95th anniversary in 2021 and has marked the occasion with the reveal of its first mid-engine car project. The mid-engine car is based on the bones of a modern Ferrari and will be limited to 18 units.

One of the vehicles we tested this week was the 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GLB35. This compact crossover has 302 hp, third-row seats, and loads of tech, and it’s quite reasonably priced at about $50,000.

    2021 Aston Martin DBX

Another vehicle we tested was Aston Martin’s new DBX. Yes, it’s a bit strange that an automaker famous for sports cars is now selling a crossover, but the vehicle offers all the performance and style you expect of an Aston Martin and throws in some practicality, too.

The 2022 Toyota 4Runner TRD Sport was revealed this week as a new model with on-road driving in mind. The Cross-Linked Relative Absorber System (X-REAS) suspension was cribbed from the 4Runner Limited’s parts bin to give the latest TRD-badged SUV adaptive dampers that help control pitch and yaw.

And finally, a mid-size crossover to replace the Ford Fusion sedan was spotted this week. The latest prototypes are the most revealing yet, and they confirm the new crossover will be styled very close to the Chinese-market Evos unveiled in April.

  • Ford Bronco Sport Easter eggs, 2022 Toyota 4Runner TRD Sport, Mercedes-Benz 500 E: The Week In Reverse

We checked out the Ford Bronco Sport’s Easter eggs, the 2022 Toyota 4Runner TRD Sport debuted, and the Mercedes-Benz 500 E celebrated an anniversary. It’s the Week in Reverse, right here at Motor Authority.

We went Easter egg hunting in the Ford Bronco Sport. Some of the Easter eggs are useful and act as labels for a feature or where it’s located. Others are more fun, like the surfboard-toting outline of an SUV hidden on the underside of the tailgate glass.

The one-of-one Bugatti La Voiture Noire was finally completed. Ready to be delivered to its as-yet unnamed owner, the car took two years to develop from low-powered electric design buck to fully functioning gas-powered hypercar. The La Voiture Noire is one of the most expensive new cars ever sold with a price of about $13.2 million based on current exchange rates.

The 2022 Toyota 4Runner TRD Sport was revealed as a new model with on-road driving in mind. The Cross-Linked Relative Absorber System (X-REAS) suspension was cribbed from the 4Runner Limited’s parts bin to give the latest TRD-badged SUV adaptive dampers that help control pitch and yaw. It’s set to hit dealers later this year.

We drove the 2021 Aston Martin DBX. The new crossover SUV is an economic reality for a small luxury automaker like Aston Martin to stay in business. That’s not a bad thing as we found it’s a brilliant all-around performer with a fantastic soundtrack from the sport exhaust.

The Mercedes-Benz 500 E celebrated its 30th anniversary. If only we all aged with this much grace. Built with the help of Porsche, the 500 E was based on the W124 E-Class and ended up being a low-volume, high-performance model that gave Mercedes-Benz a powerful sport sedan at a time when the E34-generation BMW M5 was setting Nürburgring lap records.

  • TWIN TURBO CORVETTE VS GYMKHANA WRX STI

As part of Hoonigan’s This v That series, they pitch completely opposite cars against each other. This time it’s none other than Cleetus McFarland in a twin turbo Corvette against Travis Pastrana in the 2020 Gymkhana WRX STI.

As far as drag races go, Hoonigan’s This v That series has produced some interesting match ups, with lowriders taking on race cars and highly-modified street cars. This, though, is up there with the wildest of the lot.

Sadly, the two cars Cleetus had lined up both went bang before the meet up and as a result, weren’t able to run. However, all was not lost as he jumped behind the wheel of a friend’s twin turbo Corvette C5 to go racing. Power sits at a cool 850hp but weighs in at 1450kg.

Lining up against Cleetus is none other than Travis Pastrana, he recently donned the Gymkhana gear and went on his very own hoon around his home town (you can watch that here). Underneath the bonnet is a 2.3-litre flat-four Boxer engine tuned to a colossal 862hp. The other factor to take into account is that this is a fully-blown race car, built from the get-go as a Gymkhana weapon, meaning no corners were cut in the build process. As a result, it weighs in at under 1200kg, taking its power to weight ratio to around 724bhp. To put that into perspective, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport has a power to weight ratio of 627bhp/tonne…

Now here’s the catch, there had to be one… Travis completes his run by hitting a jump at the end!
