  • THOR Racing Moves To Superb New Premises

    Respected tuner and dyno specialist THOR Racing have completed their move to its their new purpose converted 5500 ft2 premises in Canley, Coventry.

    Having rapidly outgrown its old, picturesque unit near Kenilworth, the firm’s burgeoning order book has necessitated the move to a much larger and better equipped building. With parking for 12 cars externally and four dedicated customer arrival spaces, the new building offers customers new and old the chance to have their performance car worked on by highly trained technicians in a superbly equipped environment.

    A 4000ft2 workshop offers a viewing platform for anyone who likes to think of tuning as a spectator sport and a raft of purpose built areas house an engine ‘clean’ room, stores, fabrication suite and 1600 BHP Dynapack dyno cell. The dyno room is rather special, benefitting from full sound proofing and an air-exchange system to faithfully replicate on-road conditions for perfect mapping.

    An ECU and loom area also allows THOR’s technical team to custom-build ECU solutions for almost any type of internal combustion engine.
    THOR has also invested substantially in the whole customer experience, with a full perimeter camera security system and comfortable waiting area, complete with games console, free drinks and live dyno data feed, to allow you to relax in comfort whilst you’re watching you pride and joy being put through its paces.

    A significantly larger office complex and meeting room also allows one-to-one or group discussions with teams or distributors and better still, Tile Hill train station is only 100 metres away and a bus stop opposite, making for the ultimate in commuter convenience.

  • Eibach releases Renault Megane RS Kit

    The latest Megane RS from Renault is a great car, no doubt. But, thanks to suspension gurus Eibach, Dieppe’s perennial barnstormer just got a whole new bag of party tricks.

    In standard form the car does a brilliant job of being all things to all people, but for those looking to achieve the ultimate in pin-point handling, without upsetting the Renault’s superb road manners, Eibach have released a selection of chassis upgrades to bring the Megane up to speed.

    The new Eibach Pro-Kit lowers the car by around 30mm and offers a drastically improved stance, better turn-in and lower centre of gravity for decisive direction changes. Working in harmony with the standard dampers, the Pro-Kit rides at almost factory comfort levels and truly offers the best of both worlds. The kit is priced at £170.00 + VAT.

    The final finishing touches can be added by fitting one of the selection of Pro-Spacer kits. These range in width from 20mm to 60mm and by increasing the Megane’s track measurement can drastically improve lateral grip and turn-in. The Pro-Spacers start from £61.54 + VAT per pair.

Invaluable should the worse happen on or off road, allowing a rapid and safe egress from the car should buckles become jammed or time become tight.

    Priced at just £9.99 inc. VAT, complete with a hi-tack Velcro pad to allow it to fix anywhere near the driver, this is a thoroughly sensible addition to any  car.
