  • Eibach launch new Honda CR-Z chassis upgrades. Now hugs trees AND corners

Respected suspension manufacturer Eibach has launched a new range of suspension and wheel spacer upgrades for Honda’s new ‘green’ machine, The CR-Z.

The German firm has been quick out of the blocks to release the fully TUV approved kit, despite the new hatch having only been in the showrooms for a few months.

The new spring kit uses pre-fatigued, heat treated and surface-treated springs to lower the chassis by around 30mm. Not only does the resultant lower centre of gravity improve handling and turn-in, but the CR-Z also gains a useful improvement in stance, augmenting its cutting-edge looks even further.

Thanks to the progressive winding on each spring, ride quality is maintained at almost factory levels, whilst allowing the car to stay much flatter under cornering.

Optimised to work with the OEM dampers, the four spring kit costs £143.48 + VAT and comes with a comprehensive 5 year warranty.

The final finishing touch comes in the form of Eibach’s hub-centring spacer kits. Offering owners a wide range of track increases, these beautifully machined components offer a high-integrity solution from just £81.74 + VAT per pair.(10mm versions)

Who said saving the planet had to be dull?

  • Samcosport BMW E30 M3 Coolant Hose Kit

The Welsh silicone wizards at Samcosport have released a race-quality silicone hose kit for the modern day classic that is the E30 M3. Thanks to its ‘80s good looks and DTM credentials, the E30 M3 is fast becoming a rapidly-appreciating classic. The new Samcosport kit allows lucky owners to effect a true ‘fit and forget’ upgrade thanks to their superior-quality French silicone composition and entirely hand-finished construction.

Although many M3s are now leading a fairly cosseted life, many are still flexing their Bavarian muscles on track and race days, making the SamcoSport kit an essential upgrade, thanks to its almost limitless capacity to withstand heat and pressure, vastly in excess of the factory parameters.

15 different colour finishes are available for those looking to ascribe to a race ready demeanour, or for the concours purist, the matt black ‘classic’ look. This one is all ‘Munich’ on the outside and ‘monster’ on the inside. The ideal compromise between originality and ability.

The 13 piece kit retails at £199.60 + VAT and can be upgraded to include all necessary stainless steel hose clips for just £41.49 + VAT.

  • Prolong UK To Rebrand As Synionic

Leading lubricant manufacturer Prolong UK is set to rebrand its entire product range under the new moniker of Synionic. The new nomenclature and logo will soon be seen on its entire range of specialist high performance oils, lubricants and car-care products.

Prolong shot to fame over a decade ago, becoming known as the oil of choice for race teams and discerning enthusiasts. Having proven its worth at every level from F1 through to NASCAR, Top Fuel Drag racing and Time Attack, the product’s superior film strength and ability to ionically bond to the engines surfaces set it apart from the competition, which in the main, still rely on a ‘hydrodynamic wedge’ to keep moving components apart.

Explaining the move, Mike Purchase, Sales Director of parent company ANP Ltd said, ‘The differentiation between Prolong and Synionic is an important one for us. When we first started with Prolong in the UK, we were simply importing it. Over the last few years, we have developed our own blending facilities and have been working tirelessly to improve the performance of its formulation, particularly with regard to its environmental impact upon disposal. The Synionic product is entirely new, so we felt that it deserved an all-new brand. It’s a fully synthetic lubricant that uniquely bonds at an ionic level to moving metal surfaces – hence the name, Synionic.’

The new branding will roll out to retailers over the next few months. Leading race teams have already shown a keen interest in the new range, including multiple Time Attack and Ten Of The Best Champions, Roger Clark Motorsport who have been trialling the latest lubricants as part of their development programme for the 2011 season.
