Filtration specialist Pipercross has released a superb new panel filter kit for the much vaunted TT flagship, the RS. The 174 mph supercar baiter really responds well to breathing modifications, and the latest Pipercross design offers improved airflow and performance, without infringing the factory warranty.
Designed as a direct replacement for the somewhat asthmatic OEM part, the Pipercross filter fits in mere seconds to the factory airbox. The patented design uses a unique multi-laminated open cell polyurethane foam construction, meaning the Pipercross panel can actually filter down to a much finer rate than the OEM part, preventing any foreign particles from entering the induction tract and protecting the engine. This same construction means that the filter can also go longer between service intervals than even leading cotton-gauze filters, before needing to be cleaned.
Best of all, with over 30% more airflow than the original part, tangible performance improvements can be felt, particularly in the engine’s mid range.
