  • BMW G20/21 AIR LIFT PERFORMANCE KITS

Performance air suspension supremo Air Lift Performance has just unveiled an all-new front and rear lowering kits for 2020+ BMW G20 and G21 models. Created to achieve the maximum drop without sacrificing performance and a comfortable ride, whether on the street, the track, or at a show.

The front kit features progressive-rate, double-bellow air springs, paired with threaded-body monotube struts. With 30-levels of damping adjustability, the system is able to be customised to each car builder’s unique performance needs. Topped off with adjustable camber plates, the kit provides precise steering feel, comfortable ride, and superior body support. All elements combined, the front kit drops the vehicle down 105mm (4.1”) from stock height.

In the rear, it’s a similar setup, with double-bellow air springs, paired with threaded-body shocks, once again featuring 30-levels of damping adjustability, all combined to drop the rear down 155mm (6.1”) from stock height.

All Air Lift Performance kits are torture-tested on in-house validation equipment, and both the front and rear G20/21 kits are backed by a one-year, unlimited-mileage warranty.

  • BILSTEIN EVO PERFORMANCE LINE COILOVERS

It’s safe to say that we see our fair share of new coilover kits here at FC, after all, that’s just what we do, right? A car just isn’t modified until you mess with the chassis. Everyone knows it’s the no.1 rule of car culture.

However, rather than developing new applications for existing products, Bilstein has launched a completely new range of performance-focused upgrades. That’s what’s known in the business as a big fookin’ deal, and it goes double when it just happens to be one of the world’s most respected brands.

Well, Bilstein certainly haven’t done things by halves here, either. Their brand-spanking EVO Line comes in three variations covering street performance, uncompromising track prowess and even those awkward modern cars that have all sorts of adaptive factory features. In other words, we’re looking at exactly the sort of attention to detail that makes German engineering so renowned across the world.

The range starts with the EVO S model, which is built to meet all OEM standards and designed for sporty (but compliant) fast-road handling that vastly increases cornering speed ability and offers more stable traction. The EVO SE units offer more of the same but come as a direct-fit plug-and-play solution for cars that have electronic in-car adjustable suspension parameters. And then there’s the daddy of them all – the hardcore EVO R variant – which has been engineered specifically for the circuit. These feature separate 10-click adjustment of bump and rebound settings and offer the highest possible cornering speeds, along with brutal traction and optimum grip.

So, what we’ve got here is clearly something for everyone, but what’s even more impressive is that they’re keeping the prices in line with their existing products, even though all kits developed from now on will be part of the EVO Performance Line. Flash as you like, we think you’ll agree.

  • ST SUSPENSIONS HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE SPRINGS

We don’t have to tell you that the humble lowering spring is a real bread and butter mod. But that doesn’t mean that, after over half a century on the streets, it can’t evolve. And here’s the proof: lowering springs 2.0 – bona fide, height-adjustable jobs. Flash McFlash or what?

Basically, these are a kind of coilover conversion, but what’s even more important is that they’re bringing cost-effective height tweakability to a whole new range of cars. Most commonly the models that already have performance-tuned dampers from the factory, along with modern motors where the OEM shocks are still in great nick. And even the most up-to-date stuff where retaining the electronically-adjustable dampers is a key priority.

As for the actual quality? Well, they’re from German legends ST Suspensions, so you just know these cold-wound chrome-silicon-steel puppies are engineered with handling performance in mind… the ultimate in altitude adjustment is actually something of a bonus.

These are already available for a great selection of motors, and they tell us that there’s plenty more fitments on the way. So, no more guessing whether to go for the -50mm springs for the shows or the -20mm drop for fast road performance. Now you really can have it all.
