  • 10KM R34 SKYLINE GT-R GOES TO AUCTION

Having covered just 10km in its life and never registered, this R34 Skyline GT-R V-Spec II Nür could be about to rewrite JDM car prices.

The Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R has enjoyed years of upmost praise, iconic status and rising prices. With the US just a short while away from being able to legally import the JDM legend thanks to its 25-year ruling, prices for ordinary examples are expected to continue to climb.

This example set for sale with BH Auction in Japan is no ordinary model, though. This is a V-Spec II Nür, which means its one of just 718 V-Spec IIs built, with the Nür package only setting foot on 1003 R34s in total (285 M-Spec cars were also built). Of the 718 V-Spec cars, just 141 were finished in Pearl White. As part of the Nür upgrade, cars were treated to the gold-covered N1 engine you see under the bonnet. Before 2002, the N1 engine was reserved only for race cars. Nismo believed that the standard RB26 engine required too much maintenance to use in Group-A or Group-N race cars. As a result, Nismo balanced the crankshaft to a higher specification than stock, improved water channels within the engine block, upgraded the top piston rings, thicker cylinder walls and deck surfaces, as well as adding new camshafts and turbochargers.

The change to the turbochargers came in the form of steel turbine wheels rather than the ceramic ones found in the standard RB26 unit, this was due unreliability at high temperatures on the ceramic wheel.

If you aren’t clued up on your Skylines, a V-Spec II Nür sits high when it comes to hierarchy, with the ultra-rare (just 20 built) Z-Tune sitting above it. This isn’t the first time this car has been for sale, having been bought three years ago for 35.2 million Yen (around £234k), and it’s also not the only low-mileage V-Spec II Nür to sell, a Millenium Jade model sold two years ago for £161k with just over 4000km on the clock.

How much will this 10km Skyline R34 GT-R fetch? It’s tough to say. BH Auction hasn’t, at the time of writing, published any estimates, but we would expect it to sell for upwards of £350,000…

  • MANSORY F8XX REVEALED WITH 220MPH TOP SPEED

Based on the Ferrari F8 Tributo, the Mansory F8XX is equipped with a new aero pack, increased power to 880hp and a 220mph top speed.

Unlike other Mansory kits, this one is a full makeover, receiving new aero styling, substantial performance improvements and typical Mansory details.

Here, the whole front end on the F8 Tributo is replaced on the Mansory F8XX, all made from forged carbon and featuring canards, new headlight surrounds, arch vents and a deeper front splitter.

    Mansory F8XX

Around the side, deeper sills house a new slat part way up the door, while the side intake vents gain a new blade to split the air towards both the intake above and intercooler below, although the standard F8 also features this. New wheels measuring 21 inches with a 255-section tyre at the front and 22 inches with a 335-section tyre at the rear complete the look alongside recalibrated suspension.

At the rear, a new split wing highlights its XX-inspired namesake as it replicates that from the FXX K track-only model from Ferrari. Also new is the aggressive diffuser, and less-restrictive exhaust system, while the whole car is finished in a special paint called Catania Green with various Mansory detailing.

While the engine itself, a 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 codenamed F154, remains the same, tweaks to the ECU and the new exhaust result in an addition 158bhp and 140lb ft of torque, taking the total figures to 868bhp and 708lb ft. As a result, performance figures now read 0-62mph in 2.6 seconds with a top speed of 220mph, representing a 9mph increase in top speed.

  • BMW M3 AND M4 COMPETITION XDRIVE REVEALED

Sitting alongside the new G80 BMW M3 and G82 M4 Competition rear-drive models will be these two new xDrive models, featuring all-wheel drive and a 0-62mph time of just 3.5 seconds.

Joining the range later in the year, the M3 Competition xDrive will start from £77,015 on the road, with the M4 xDrive starting from £78,315, marking a £2200 premium over the RWD models.

Powering the BMW M3 and M4 Competition xDrive models is the same S58-codenamed engine and ZF-soured automatic transmission, meaning power is 503bhp. Underneath, power is sent most of the time to the rear-wheels in normal driving mode, with power only being sent to the front when the rears begin to slip, this is actuated by an electronically controlled clutch within the transfer case. Usually, this would be sent to the ECU to communicate the message, but here, BMW employs an individual unit to speed up the process for maximum efficiency.

As with the BMW M5, those who want more angle will be pleased to know that both the G80 M3 and M4 xDrive models feature a 4WD Sport mode that allows more slip from the rear wheels before the fronts are called into action, while an entirely RWD mode is also available. Unlike the BMW M5, BMW’s traction and stability control systems will still be functional in RWD mode because the xDrive models share the same calibration as the RWD models.

The only other changes come in the form of new suspension struts up front with new geometry settings and revised steering ratio to account for the new front driveshafts.
