Derbyshire based exhausts manufacturer Scorpion Exhausts have launched a superb looking exhaust system for the diminutive Fiat 500 Abarth that offers genuine performance gains and a sublime soundtrack.
The new system, which has been designed and hand-fabricated here in the UK, utilises T304 63mm Aerospace grade stainless steel tubing
and precision CNC mandrel bends to optimise gas-flow and improve throttle response across the rev range.
The open-neck downpipe houses a free-flowing 200 cell sports catalyst, providing the perfect balance between full race/road legality and ultimate performance. Sitting so close to the engine, the catalyst also warms up very quickly, ensuring that the car’s emissions stay very close to factory parameters, despite a notable power increase. The exhaust note has been carefully honed to offer a truly sporting tone, without being obtrusive in the cabin.
The centre section has an OEM style flexi-joint to allow for engine movement and the rear back box uses offers a pair of subtly finished 100mm Daytona trims to accentuate the Abarth’s shapely rear.
The entire system is priced at £995 including VAT. This includes the 200 cell sports catalyst. A half system is also available, from the downpipe back, for just £549 inc VAT.
The system will initially be available exclusively from Forge Motorsport. Click to www.forgemotorsport.co.uk or call the team on 01452 380999 for more details.

Open-top enthusiasts will love the new sportier tone which endows the car with a crisp ‘rasp’ that evokes the original Lotus Elan – the car that inspired the very first incarnation of the world’s best-selling sports car.
This results in class-leading levels of emissions, despite the system offering 10-15% power gains across the board. The tailpipes terminate with tasteful twin 90mm ‘Daytona’ stainless trims.
After a considerable amount of road and dyno testing, the new system is available as a direct bolt-on replacement to the OEM part. Bolting directly to the rear of the factory catalyst pipe, the 70mm system is available in two fitments. Either a centre and rear box for those that want maximum extraction with minimum intrusion, or for those that prefer a sportier tone, a Sports bypass pipe is available, leaving just the rear box to handle silencing duties. One of the biggest advantages over competitor’s designs is that Scorpion’s engineers have invested considerable time in studying the flatter profile of the factory rear box when designing theirs. Despite no loss in flow, the flatter Scorpion rear box tucks up into the rear underbody far more neatly than any other aftermarket system, improving looks, ground clearance and the all-important under car air-flow characteristics. This is an element often overlooked by aftermarket manufacturers, but it’s careful consideration is hardly surprising when you consider the wealth of OEM experience that Scorpion has to draw from.
