  • 2021 Maserati Ghibli Trofeo, 2022 McLaren Artura, 2022 Porsche 911 GT3: The Week In Reverse

We drove the 2021 Maserati Ghibli Trofeo, the 2022 McLaren Artura was revealed, and the covers came off the 2022 Porsche 911 GT3. It’s the Week in Reverse, right here at Motor Authority.

We spent some time on the road and track with the 2021 Maserati Ghibli Trofeo and found that while it has subdued styling for a high-performance variant, what you can’t see adds the substance. The powertrain delivers power quickly and smoothly, while the adaptive suspension retains enough road feel to satisfy.

News broke that Stellantis has disbanded the dedicated SRT engineering group and dispersed the team throughout the larger organization. This isn’t the death of SRT, as high-performance SRT models will continue.

The 2022 McLaren Artura debuted. The latest supercar from Woking is a plug-in hybrid with a twin-turbo V-6, and it rides on the new McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture (MCLA). The MCLA makes the Artura the first clean-sheet McLaren in nearly a decade, and it will serve as the basis for the automaker’s future electrified models.

The 2022 GMC Hummer EV was spotted testing on public roads. Adorned with production metal but lacking the trim bits, the Hummer EV looked nearly ready to head down the production line. Seeing the prototype in the wild showed how hulking this new electric pickup truck will be when it goes on sale later this year.

Porsche pulled the cover off the 2022 Porsche 911 GT3. The latest iteration of the iconic sports car is based on the 992-generation 911. With similar weight and power as the last-generation GT3, it’s amazing the latest model can lap the Nürburgring 17 seconds quicker. The improvement is due to aerodynamics and suspension design.

  • 2021 Ford Ranger Tremor, 2021 Porsche 911 GT3, 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor: The Week In Reverse

We took a spin in the 2021 Ford Ranger Tremor, the 2021 Porsche 911 GT3 received a date with destiny, and a key detail of the 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor came to light. It’s the Week in Reverse, right here at Motor Authority.

The 2021 Ford Ranger Tremor has arrived and we drove the mid-size off-road pickup truck on a snowy Michigan off-road course. We found it has the chops to conquer steep, snowy hills, and take on the likes of the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 and Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro with a smaller price tag. But it’s no Ranger Raptor.

A report broke that Subaru is working on an all-wheel-drive hot hatch that may serve as the brand’s return to top-level rally racing. Code-named Super AWD, the hot hatch is due in the fall of 2022. Word has it the car is being co-developed with Toyota, though it won’t be a version of the hot little GR Yaris.

The debut of the 2021 Porsche 911 GT3 is almost here. The German automaker announced the latest GT3 will be unveiled on Feb. 16. A teaser was released showing a race car-like rear wing on “swan neck” struts. Expect the return of the 6-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission option.

The redesigned 2022 Genesis G90 was spotted undergoing cold-weather testing with a wild new wheel design. Despite a 2020 refresh, the 2022 version of the flagship luxury sedan should ride on a new platform and possibly be available with a battery-electric option. Expect a debut in the next year.

We learned that the 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor will be available with two different frames. Which frame buyers will get will depend on whether the truck is ordered with the standard 35-inch tires or the optional 37s. The truck with the 37s will come with updated front shocks and modified mounting points for the rear jounce bumpers and spare-tire mount.

  • 2021 Genesis G80, 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor, Hennessey Mammoth 1000: The Week In Reverse

We spent some time with the 2021 Genesis G80, the 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor got a date wit destiny, and Hennessey announced the Mammoth 1000. It’s the Week in Reverse, right here at Motor Authority.

We spent a week in the 2021 Genesis G80 and found it turns heads, sports delightful design details, and comes packed with the latest technology, including an overly complicated and distracting infotainment controller. It should have the German’s looking over their shoulders.

Jerry Wiegert, founder of Vector supercars, died at the age of 76 on Jan. 15. The cause of death has not been released by the family, but Wiegert lived and died in Los Angeles, where he pursued his dream of building the all-American supercar.

The 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor is coming soon. The high-speed off-road pickup truck will be revealed on Feb. 3. The new generation of the high-performance pickup is expected to feature a new coil spring suspension in the rear and a few powertrain choices.

General Motors filed a U.S. trademark for the term “Hyper Cruise.” It’s unclear exactly what the name will be used for, but the automaker’s current hands-free driver-assistance system is called Super Cruise, so Hyper Cruise might be the next-generation system.

A new beast has emerged for those who think the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX is under powered: the Hennessey Mammoth 1000. The Texas-based Hennessey Performance Engineering has upgraded the Hellcat powertrain to a staggering 1,012 hp and 969 lb-ft of torque. New bumpers, wheels, and lighting are included as well for $135,350.
