  • Eibach Launch New BMW X1 Kit

    Off-Road Skills with On-Road Thrills.

It may have been in the showrooms for all of 5 minutes, but already suspension guru Eibach has a full complement of suspension products for the new BMW X1.

Although BMW has obviously set out to endow the ‘soft roader’ with impressive on-road ability, the new Eibach products remove the compromises of the standard suspension set-up to endow the capable Bavarian with an incredible degree of steering precision and driver feedback. Knowing that most X1s won’t see much more off road action than a muddy puddle, this new kit offers drivers the chance to really exploit the superb chassis.

For those looking for the ultimate balance of ride comfort and response, The Pro-Kit lowered springs work in harmony with the factory damper units to lower the car by approximately 30mm. This improved centre of gravity reduces body roll and improves turn-in. Thanks to the spring’s unique progressive winding, developed by Eibach’s F1 engineers, compliance is retained almost at factory levels. Appearances however are not, with the car taking on a far more aggressive stance and the wheels really filling the arches. In-keeping with BMW’s reputation for longevity, the kit comes with a comprehensive 5 year warranty on fit and finish. Perfect for UK roads! The kit is priced at £139.00+ VAT.

The final finishing touch can be added with the application of the Eibach’s hub-centric Pro-Spacer kit. These are available in a selection of widths to either increase the track of the standard wheels to improve the car’s handling or to allow the precise fitment of aftermarket alloy wheels whilst retaining factory offsets. A great idea in either case. Prices start at just £38.00 + VAT per pair.

The X1 may already be the perfect off road/on road compromise, but for any drivers looking to have more fun on the latter, the new Eibach products are the perfect upgrade!

  • Scorpion Exhausts Release Renault Megane 225 System

Thanks to Renaultsport’s involvement, the Renault Megane range boasts some seriously desirable models in its line-up. Although they’re all superb performers ‘out of the box’, thanks to Scorpion Exhausts, owners of the oft-admired -04 on 225 models can now have a little more ‘va-va-voom’ at their disposal.

The Scorpion system fits from the catalyst back, retaining both full legality and warranty conformity. Hand-fabricated in aerospace grade T304 stainless steel, the 2.5” diameter tubing is mandrel bent to ensure a constant internal diameter and is optimised to balance the perfect back-pressure for the turbocharger with optimum extraction for maximum power gains.

Owners can specify either a front sports silencer or bypass pipe as the front section to dial in – or out – their desired level of noise. Perfect for ever-decreasing track day dB levels or for those looking to live with a quick car in the real world. The system terminates in two tasteful ‘Monaco’ 90 x 76mm oval tailpipes for an OEM look, with a little extra attitude. While the note is overtly sporty, Scorpion’s engineers have spent many hours of road and dyno testing to ensure that it’s not intrusive in the cabin. Power and torque gains of between 5 and 10% can be expected with huge improvements in mid-range throttle response.

Like all Scorpion systems, this new Megane 225 design benefits from a lifetime warranty to the original owner, making it a true ‘fit and forget’ upgrade. Prices start at just £249 for the rear sports back box rising to £450 for the full cat-back system with two silencers.
